Badla (2019) – Plot Summary
Naina Sethi (Taapsee Pannu), a young and successful businesswoman, is accused of murdering her secret lover Arjun Joseph (Tony Luke). They were found in a locked hotel room — Arjun dead, Naina injured — with no sign of forced entry.
Naina hires prestigious lawyer Badal Gupta (Amitabh Bachchan), who has never lost a case. He visits her at home to prepare her defense and begins questioning her about the events. Naina claims innocence, but her story is full of holes.
As the conversation unfolds, shocking truths are revealed:

Months earlier, Naina and Arjun were involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed a young man named Sunny.

Instead of reporting the crime, they covered it up — hiding the body and avoiding the police.

Arjun later blackmailed Naina for money and forced her to the hotel where he was eventually found dead.
Badal keeps pressing Naina, presenting different scenarios and theories, eventually leading her to confess not only to the accident but also to killing Arjun.
Then comes the final twist — Badal is not really her lawyer. He is Sunny’s father, disguised as Badal Gupta. His wife, Rani (Amrita Singh), is also in on the plan. They recorded her confession and call the police, finally getting justice for their son.
