Plot Summary – Nadaaniyan (2025)
Set in the contrasting worlds of elite Delhi and working-class Noida, Nadaaniyan is a teen romantic comedy that follows Pia Jaisingh, a wealthy and socially popular high school girl, and Arjun Mehta, a grounded, middle-class student from the suburbs.
After an embarrassing misunderstanding among her elite circle of friends, Pia hires Arjun to pose as her boyfriend to save face. What begins as a fake online relationship soon spills into real life, and the two start spending more time together. Despite their stark differences in background, lifestyle, and values, the two form an unexpected bond.
However, the charade takes a toll as social media scrutiny, class prejudices, and disapproving families start to strain their budding romance. Arjun grapples with imposter syndrome, while Pia begins to question the superficiality of her social world.
In a predictable yet heartfelt climax, the pair confront their insecurities and societal expectations, ultimately choosing to follow their hearts rather than conform to roles assigned by others.
