Plot Summary
Aryan Agnihotri (Shahid Kapoor) is a talented robotics engineer whose family is eager to see him settle down. While on assignment in the US at his aunt Urmila’s robotics firm, he meets Sifra, the company’s charming manager. Little does he know, Sifra is actually SIFRA—a humanoid android developed by Urmila as a secret experiment to pass as a human.
Sifra is programmed to be the “perfect” partner—she speaks multiple languages, cooks, laughs, and even flirts authentically. Aryan falls deeply in love. The romantic spark turns heartbreaking when he discovers her true identity—she’s a robot.
Back in India, Aryan reluctantly agrees to an arranged marriage, but his heart still belongs to Sifra. He convinces Urmila to send her to India “for further testing,” where he introduces her to his family, leading to both tender and hilarious situations—especially as Aryan coaches Sifra on Indian traditions.
Just before their wedding, a faulty update causes Sifra to malfunction: her memory is wiped, then restored, only to glitch disastrously during a power blackout. In a dramatic climax, Aryan is forced to destroy her to prevent disaster.
In an emotional epilogue, Urmila launches SIFRA 2.0, and on noticing signs of jealousy as Aryan interacts with a new intern, it hints that even an android can learn to feel.
